VivaTech

From June 12 to 14, Paris hosted the ninth edition of Viva Technology: an unmissable event for those who live, work, and invest in innovation.

An event that is no longer just an event

What began in 2016 as a French showcase on the tech future has today become a global innovation hub. VivaTech 2025 brought together more than 13,500 startups from over 120 countries, along with major companies, international funds, institutions, and players from the entire tech ecosystem. For three days, the Parc des Expositions at Porte de Versailles turned into a city within the city: thematic pavilions, co-pitching areas, talks, live demos, investors, accelerators, and media from all over the world.

The key themes

The ninth edition of Viva Technology confirmed its role as a barometer of European innovation, with a program focused on high-impact technologies:

  • Artificial Intelligence (generative, predictive, for governance and security)

  • Quantum computing and new frontiers of computation

  • Blockchain & Web3

  • Green tech and climate solutions

  • Future mobility, robotics, and autonomous vehicles

  • Health & biotechNot just future visions: each stand showcased real-world applications already operating in companies, cities, health systems or production chains. This is VivaTech’s real strength: proving that the future is already here — and in many cases, ready to scale.

The 48 Italian startups: a leading presence

Thanks to the work of ICE – Italian Trade Agency, Italy participated with a dedicated pavilion, hosting 48 startups selected for technological quality, market potential, and social impact.

The Italian startups were divided into eight strategic sectors:

  • AI, Quantum, Blockchain & Cloud

  • Agrifood

  • Energy & Climate

  • Biotech & Health

  • Cybersecurity

  • Industry 4.0 & Robotics

  • Marketing & Media

  • Mobility & Travel

Many of the startups already boast patents, advanced TRLs, and industrial partnerships. A clear signal that the Italian ecosystem is moving from the exploratory phase to the execution phase.

A true meeting opportunity

Beyond the exhibition stands, the VivaTech days were animated by:

  • Public pitches and meetings with investors

  • Vertical panels in collaboration with Innovup, Italian Tech Alliance, Roma Startup

  • Networking sessions facilitated by ICE and other European organizationsFor Italian startups, it was a valuable moment of international visibility, but also a concrete opportunity to make deals, validate business models, and engage with top players in the industry.

A festival that looks ahead (and speaks European)

VivaTech is not just a trade show: it is a platform that tells the story of a technological Europe that wants to lead. Unlike other more commercial or localized events, here the keyword is ecosystem: startups, corporates, public institutions, universities and investors truly communicate. And Italy, thanks to the quality of the companies present, was able to bring concrete ideas, scalable solutions and skills ready for global markets.
